Advice Service

The Yemeni Welfare and Advice Centre was set up in 1990 to meet the advice needs of the Yemeni community and was initially based at the Yemeni Community Association Centre at 68 Burngreave Road with funding from Sheffield City Council.

Since this time the Yemeni Welfare and Advice Centre has built up a long standing reputation for the provision of generalist and specialist advice work to members of the Yemeni Community. The advice centre offers members of the Yemeni and Arabic speaking community a free and confidential advice service which enables them to access crucial mainstream services which would otherwise neglect their needs.

Service delivery

The Yemeni Welfare and Advice Centre (YWAC) main office is based on the 2nd floor of the Firvale Centre on Earl Marshal Road. Disabled access is provided through a lift operating between floors.

  • 3 confidential client rooms are available in Firvale.
  • YWAC also operates a satellite service from the YCA building at 68 Burngreave Road.
  • The YWAC service is mainly publicised through word of mouth through the Yemeni Community and wider afield, however, the service is also publicised through YCA publicity material
