2011 has seen some fantastic achievements and successes for the YCA starting with two prestigious quality mark awards. January saw the Investors in Diversity awarded to the YCA in recognition of its commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and March also saw the Investors in People awarded for the YCA's commitment to improving the performance of its volunteers and workers. These awards are the benchmark of quality standards for organizations across England and the YCA are proud to be in receipt of this recognition.
We are also proud to announce the YCA’s successful bid for the European Refugee Fund III. From July 2011 the YCA will be running free accredited English courses from Entry level 1 to IELTS, Employability workshops and child care provision for all learners with a refugee status. Exclusion and gang cultureThe YCA has continued it's commitment to tackling issues faced by the young people of our community and this year sees the launch of the Gang Resistance and Inclusion Project (GRIP). The project aims to prevent young people from becoming involved in gangs and gun/knife crime by engaging them in alternative activities and will be run from June to March 2012.
